Adding ingredients and tracking inventory

Updated May 1, 2025·5 min read

Running out of vanilla mid-order is a baker's nightmare. Bakekick inventory tracks what you have on hand and ties directly to your recipes and shopping list.

Add ingredients to your pantry

Go to Ingredients and click Add ingredient. Enter the name, unit (cups, grams, each), and current stock level.

Add cost per unit when you know it — Bakekick uses this for recipe costing and the pricing calculator.

  • Import common baking staples from the starter library to save time.
  • Set a par level — the minimum quantity you want on hand before reordering.

Track usage and waste

When you log a bake or fulfill an order, ingredient quantities deduct automatically based on linked recipes.

Log waste separately under Ingredients → Waste log for spoiled or expired stock — keeps your counts honest.

Pro tip

Turn on low-stock alerts in Settings → Notifications. You'll get an email before butter runs out on a busy weekend.
