Accepting partial payments and tracking the balance

Updated May 1, 2025·3 min read

Some customers prefer to pay in installments — deposit now, balance at pickup. Bakekick keeps the math straight so you always know what's still owed.

How split payments work

When you require a deposit, the invoice automatically splits into two amounts: due now and due later.

Each online payment reduces the outstanding balance. Your Orders list shows a Balance column so you can scan who still owes money before delivery day.

Manual payment entries

For cash, Zelle, or in-person card payments, use Record payment on the invoice. Enter the amount — Bakekick won't double-count if they also pay online.

Partial payments are timestamped. If you need a paper trail for taxes or disputes, export payment history from Reports.
