How to create and send a quote to a customer

Updated May 1, 2025·4 min read

A quote is the first professional touchpoint in a custom order. It sets expectations, shows your pricing, and gives the customer a clear yes/no moment — before you've bought a single bag of flour.

Bakekick quotes are designed for home bakers: fast to build, easy to share, and simple for customers to approve.

Start a new quote

Go to Orders and click New Quote. Select an existing contact or add a new customer with their name and email.

Add line items for each product or service — cake size, flavor, design complexity, delivery fee, and any add-ons. Each line can have its own description so the customer knows exactly what they're paying for.

  1. 1
    Add order context

Include the event date, pickup or delivery window, and any notes about allergies or design references.

  2. 2
    Set your total

Use the Bakekick pricing calculator to pull ingredient costs from your recipes, or enter a custom price you've already calculated.

Share the quote

Click Send Quote to email a branded link, or copy the URL and paste it into Instagram DMs, text, or email. The customer sees your logo, itemized pricing, and an Approve button.

You'll get a notification when they approve. Until then, the quote stays editable — if they ask for changes, update the quote and resend the same link.

Pro tip

Send quotes within 24 hours of an inquiry. Bakers who respond quickly close more orders — even when the price is higher than competitors.
